CARE Quarterly Update – December 2018

The odds of recession have receded greatly since our last update, although they have not gone completely. In Australia, house price moves have and will continue to be important for the overall growth rate of the economy. As was highlighted in our last quarterly update, volatility is likely to remain high in 2019 with the important drivers of global financial markets in the coming months and quarters being US interest rates, the direction of the US dollar, trade war tensions and the level of Chinese policy stimulus.
